Swine flu - important informationIf you have flu-like symptoms and are concerned that you may have swine flu, stay at home and check your symptoms at the National Pandemic Flu Service or telephone 0800 1 513 100. Free swine flu vaccinations for eligible adultsNHS Bury is offering the swine flu vaccination during February 2010 for any eligible adults who may have missed being vaccinated in 2009 or are not able to get vaccinated at their GP surgery. The current groups eligible for the vaccine are:

Find out more about the NHS Constitution. 28/1/2010: Press statement - NHS Bury’s Chair to retire Mrs Hilda S Harvey MBE will retire from the position of Chair of NHS Bury (Bury Primary Care Trust) with effect from 31 January 2010 following a period of ill health. Mrs Harvey has fulfilled the post since the creation of the Primary Care Trust in April 2002. Mrs Harvey stated; "It has been an honour to serve the local community as Chair of Bury PCT for almost eight years during which time we have begun to transform the local NHS into a responsive modern service, fit for future generations in Bury. I have been lucky to have worked with fantastic NHS staff, which has made my time as Chair a pleasure, similarly the support of the rest of the Board over the years has been unswerving. I am an ordinary person who has been given the opportunity to work with an extraordinary group of dedicated professionals to improve the health and well being of our community. I have been privileged to have been able to undertake a role that I love. I wish to take this opportunity to wish the organisation well as it enters a new phase beset by fresh challenges and opportunities."
