Community Services Bury

Press release

Working together for a healthier Bury

Bury’s provider of community based health services has been celebrating working in partnership for the benefit of local people.

The event, which coincided with Community Services Bury’s first birthday celebrations as an arms length organisation of NHS Bury (Bury Primary Care Trust), gave the organisation the opportunity to demonstrate and celebrate how community health services work in partnership with a wide range of public, private and voluntary agencies to provide quality and responsive services.

There were over 150 people at the event held at the Town Hall in Bury including staff, partners including those from other NHS organisations, Bury Council and voluntary and private agencies, together with patients, carers and service users. The key note speaker was Professor Rona McCandlish, Non-Executive Director at NICE (the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence), whose focus is on clinical quality.

Community Services Bury provides a wide range of community based health services through over 650 clinical staff.  Services provided range from health improvement to general and specialist services and are provided in a variety of community settings.

Where appropriate, Community Services Bury works with partners to plan and deliver local services to ensure that they are co-ordinated, personalised and patient-centred.

Denise Boyd, Director of Community Services Bury said;

“The event symbolised the importance of working together for the benefit of local people.  We also celebrated and reflected on our progress and achievements over the last year and our aspirations for the future.  We were proud to showcase many of the services that we have the privilege of providing and seeing how they are benefiting local people.”
