Bury’s Nurse Led Walk-in Centre ‘on the move’
Bury’s Nurse Led NHS Walk-in Centre will be relocating from its existing base at Parson’s Lane in Bury, to Moorgate Primary Care Centre on Tuesday 28th April 2009.
Patient’s are advised that there will be a reduced Walk-in Centre service at Parson’s Lane on the day of the move, and are urged to utilise other services, including the Walk-in Centre at Prestwich, which is unaffected by the Bury move*.
In addition to Prestwich Walk-in Centre, patients requiring care, advice and information can also access a wide range of local services to meet their needs. In addition to their regular GP Practice, patients can also telephone NHS Direct (0845 46 47) for advice or consult their local community pharmacist.
Bury’s nurse led Walk-in Centre, has been based at 18 Parsons Lane Bury since its launch in the year 2000. The Walk-in Centre provides care to patients and visitors to the town, including health advice and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries.
Following the relocation of the team and clinical equipment to the 1st floor Moorgate Primary Care Centre on Derby Way, the service will be fully up and running on Wednesday 29th April 2009. Following relocation, the opening times of the Walk-in Centre remain unchanged: 7am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 10pm Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
The move to modern accommodation at Moorgate Primary Care Centre will offer additional, more spacious consultation and examination rooms, and will ensure the Walk-in Centre is co-located with other health services.
Denise Boyd, Director of Community Services Bury said; “The move of Bury’s Walk-in Centre to more modern premises will without doubt benefit patients and staff alike. Moorgate Primary Care Centre is in a central location with access via public transport, it has a convenient drop off point outside and there is easy access to the 1st floor where the Walk-in Centre will be based, via stairs and lifts.”
“We will be running a reduced service on the day of the move (28th April 2009). However we aim to keep disruption to a minimum, and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Prestwich Walk in Centre will be running a full service on the day of the move.”
