Bury’s Dental Access Centre gets new home
Bury’s Dental Access Centre (DAC) will be relocating from its existing base at Parson’s Lane in Bury, to Moorgate Primary Care Centre on Monday 20th April 2009.
Although the move will cause some temporary disruption to services, provision will be available for those patients requiring urgent dental treatment from the DAC at the new Moorgate Primary Care Centre. On the day of the move, patients are urged to contact the DAC for advice on how to access the service (existing number 0161 763 9022).
The DAC provides dental appointments and emergency treatment to patients who do not have a regular dentist. The service is open from 7:45 am until 4:15 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).
Following the move to the 2nd floor at Moorgate Primary Care Centre on Derby Way, the service will be fully up and running from Tuesday 21 April 2009.
The move to more modern accommodation will increase the number dental surgeries, offer state of the art dental equipment and a larger waiting room for patients.
Coinciding with the move of the DAC, the Community Dental Service currently located at Peel Health Centre, and the Dental Advice Bureau currently located at Parsons Lane, will both relocate to Moorgate Primary Centre, and will co-locate with the DAC. Patients of Community Dental Services have been made aware of the relocation.
Denise Boyd, Director of Community Services Bury said; “The move of Bury’s Dental Access Centre and Community Dental Service to Moorgate Primary Care Centre is really exciting for the services and will benefit patients who access them. We are striving to keep disruption to a minimum, and services for those patients who need them will be available on the day of the move.”
