Press release
YPAS Radcliffe is on the move
Radcliffe’s health advice service for young people is moving to a new home from next month.
YPAS (Young Person’s Advisory Service) offers free, friendly and confidential advice for young people up to the age of 20 years on a range of health and wellbeing issues, including contraceptive and sexual health advice, pregnancy testing and decision making support.
YPAS can also offer the RU Clear? dual screen for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea for the under 25s, and access to the Condom Distribution Scheme*.
With sites in Bury, Radcliffe and Whitefield**, YPAS offers accessible services on a flexible basis.
From Monday 5th October, YPAS Radcliffe will move from Victoria Children and Family’s Centre on Victoria Street, to Radcliffe Primary Care Centre located on Church Street West and will provide one session every Monday between 3.30pm and 5pm.
The move brings the service into Radcliffe’s newest health resource which opened earlier in 2009. Radcliffe Primary Care Centre is in the heart of the town, and within easy reach for many young people.
Kim Robinson, Contraception and Sexual Health Service Co-ordinator for Community Services Bury said; “The move to Radcliffe Primary Care Centre will bring YPAS Radcliffe closer to the heart of the community and within walking distance of Radcliffe Metrolink. The flexible way in which the service is run means there is no need to make an appointment to access the service and young people are able to drop in at their convenience during one of the clinic times.”
YPAS can be contacted on 0161 761 2136.
