Press release
Health bus will ‘spring you into shape for summer!’
NHS Bury is about to take a bus around Bury to boost the health of local people.
The QUIT IT bus came to Bury back in January and was a huge hit. During May it will return to Bury as the ‘I Love Me’ health bus, to motivate people to make small but significant changes to improve their health with the help of NHS Bury.
The health bus will be stopping at a number of locations, bringing a range of services to improve health and wellbeing, into the heart of the community.
Whether it be help to quit smoking, eat more healthily, cutting down on alcohol or getting more active, there will be something for everyone. Bury’s Stop Smoking Service, Health Trainers and Communities Against Cancer are just some of the services and initiatives offering advice and information during the tour.
Dr. Peter Elton, Director of Public Health for NHS Bury said:
“The I Love Me bus will offer you all the information you need to look and feel great. Just a few small changes to everyday life can make a huge difference to your health both now and in the future. Our staff can offer practical and achievable ideas on how to shed those extra pounds, improve your diet, fit physical activity around your daily routine and much more.”
Look out for the health bus during May for giveaways and free, confidential advice and support from your local NHS.
