Health Visiting Service
Introduction
Our vision for the Health Visiting Service for Bury is to develop a family centred, public health service that promotes and achieves better outcomes for all children and their families.
It will reflect the vision of Bury to provide services that are driven by the prevention of ill health and the promotion and protection of good health to all young children and their families.
Health visiting teams will remain committed to ensuring that through health needs assessment of individuals and communities, there is universal access to health improvement activities, alongside targeted, needs based interventions to support the complex needs of children and families.
The Health Visiting Service acknowledges that health cannot be separated from social, economic, and cultural factors. These factors will reflect the flexible way in which health-visiting teams respond to developing policy, and deliver services to meet the needs of a community, by adopting innovative approaches to health care, and using a partnership and empowerment approach.
We believe that this approach will play an essential part in achieving positive outcomes for children and their families, and contribute to reducing inequalities in health.
