Stop Smoking Service
Congratulations on taking the first steps to stopping smoking.
Community Services Bury offer FREE help and support for people who want to give up smoking. Evidence shows that seeking professional help can increase your chances of stopping for good. Our specialist advisors can offer support or alternatively support may be available from your practice nurse, pharmacist, dental team, health visitor and midwife.
Support can be offered on a one-to-one basis, informal group basis in your local area or through telephone support by a trained stop smoking advisor.
The Stop Smoking Service can offer advice on which product would be most suitable for you.
Last year over 1000 people stopped smoking in Bury with the help of the stop smoking service, which shows that you can do it with support.

Who is eligible to access our service
Anybody who is registered with a Bury GP, lives or works in Bury.
How to access our service
There are a variety of ways to access the service including:
- Drop-in clinics (no appointment needed) - every Wednesday evening, between 4.30pm - 6.30pm, Townside Primary Care Centre, Knowsley Place, Bury: Please arrive no later than 6.00pm as there may be a waiting time.
- Drop-in clinics (no appointment needed) - every Friday afternoon between 1.00pm – 3.00pm (please arrive no later than 2.30pm as there may be a waiting time), Acorn Suite, Radcliffe Primary Care Centre, 69 Church Street West, Radcliffe, M26 2SP
- Drop-in clinics (no appointment needed) - every Monday between 11am – 1pm (please arrive no later than 12.30pm as there may be a waiting time), Adult Care Connect and Direct, Textile Hall, Manchester Road, Bury, BL9 ODG
