TIA clinic (mini stroke)
If a person suffers mild signs of a stroke but they are fully resolved within 24 hours, i.e they are left with no symptoms at all, this could be a possible TIA. This needs investigating and treating to help prevent a stroke occurring. The GP or Accident and Emergency Department can refer to the clinic. At the clinic the patient will be seen by a specialist stroke consultant who will order an investigation and devise a treatment plan. Advice on lifestyle changes will also be offered.
