What is Governance and Clinical Leadership?
Governance is a way of maintaining and improving the quality of care. It provides a system to help healthcare teams ensure that individuals receive safe and effective healthcare services.
Good clinical governance is more than just systems and processes, it is about the various health professions and about involving patients.
About our service
The Governance Department consists of:
- Associate Director of Governance and Clinical Leadership
- Senior Manager - Governance
- Quality Manager
- Audit Facilitator
- Clinical Lead
- Education and Development Officer
Their roles are to ensure, promote and support staff in the delivery of care to the highest standards and best quality of practice. The Governance Team ensure all governance issues are brought to the attention of both managers and staff and that they are implemented in an effective and timely manner. The Governance Team are there to ensure Community Services Bury have a standardised quality of care throughout the organisation.
Community Services Bury Governance also work very closely with the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) and Complaints Department to ensure that complaints within Community Services are dealt with fairly and accurately and that prevention of reoccurrence is assured through learning and development throughout Community Services Bury.
Governance and Clinical Leadership aims to contribute to the assurance that the Community Services Bury Board fulfils its governance responsibilities.
