Pharmacy services focus groups
The Health Act 2009 requires all PCTs to produce a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment. As a result, during 2010-11 NHS Bury will be conducting an assessment of local pharmacy services across the borough with a range of stakeholders. This extensive review will look at current provision, to ensure that this meets the health needs of the local population. Feedback from the review will be used to plan pharmacy services in the future.
As part of the pharmaceutical needs assessment process, two focus group discussions were held in July 2010 to gain an insight into people’s views on existing pharmacy services, whether current provision meets local needs and how services could be improved in the future.
