Fuel poverty
What is fuel poverty?
Fuel poverty occurs when a household needs to spend more than 10% of its income on fuel bills in order to maintain an adequate standard of living within the home. A household should be able, within reasonable cost, to heat their main living areas to 21°C, and other living areas to 18°C in order to maintain health and comfort. If you are in fuel poverty, your home may be difficult to heat, or often feel cold and damp.
