About us

NHS Bury - Your local NHS

NHS Bury (Bury Primary Care Trust) was established in April 2002 by the Secretary of State for Health.

We receive the NHS budget for Bury and with this we plan and deliver health services to meet the needs of local people.

NHS Bury co-ordinates, funds and manages local health services. We are the local leader of the NHS, we work in partnership with a range of organisations including Bury Council and local GPs with a view to improving the health of people in Bury.

We are responsible for:

  • Engaging with local people to improve health and wellbeing.
  • Working with Bury Council and other partners to improve health and wellbeing.
  • Ensuring that a wide range of health services are available
  • Ensuring NHS monies are spent wisely.

Our vision is:

“To ensure better health and well being by promoting a healthy society and developing services which are clinically led and responsive to patient choice. These services will be safe, fair, effective and deliver better care and better value for all.”
