Equality & diversity training
The Trust provides the following training that relates to equality and diversity in order to ensure its employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills to actively promote the equality and diversity agenda in order to promote the highest standards of patient care.
Corporate induction
Induction is mandatory of all new staff joining the Trust. Inductions take place on a monthly basis and cover an introduction to equality and diversity legislation and the Trust’s expectations of staff.
Equality and diversity awareness training
A two hour equality and diversity mandatory session is run for all staff. The training covers disability, race, religion and belief, age, gender and sexuality and the changes in the new Equality legislation (Equality Act 2010, Equality Duty 2011)
This is then followed up by a one hour update session every two years. We also provide the e-learning package for all staff.
Equality and diversity for managers
This is a more in depth half day course for managers. This covers the main points for equality and diversity and focuses on the effect of the new legislation on recruitment and selection.
EIA master classes
These master classes will enable delegates to develop an understanding of the Trust’s Equality Impact Assessment (EIAs) processes in relation to policy, strategy, service development and commissioning & decommissioning.
The classes will enable delegates to identify the business, ethical and legal cases for undertaking Equality Impact Assessments. Also to see where EIAs fit into wider organisational agendas and to develop practical understanding of EIAs.
Bullying and harassment training
Training is mandatory for all staff and covers all aspects of bullying and harassment as outlined in the policy and procedure. It outlines what constitutes bullying and harassment, how to recognise if it is happening and what to do it occurs.
